BACK TO SCHOOL BLOG

Looking for a fun activity to kick off the school year? Have students write about their hopes & dreams. I use this activity during the first week of school. Often students create several personal hopes & dreams such as, reading every day or turning in assignments on time. Then I have them create a few hopes & dreams for their classmates.

Looking for a fun activity to kick off the school year? Have students write about their hopes & dreams. I use this activity during the first week of school. Often students create several personal hopes & dreams such as, reading every day or turning in assignments on time. Then I have them create a few hopes & dreams for their classmates. This helps to build community relationships right from the start! Finally, students make a promise, create one academic SMART goal and one life dream to accomplish.

This activity makes a great classroom display for the first quarter. Once they are no longer on display, I have student keep them in a folder or binder so they can be reminded of their dreams often.

If you are interested in the digital or printable templates, check out my TPT resource. I also have a mini version. The mini version takes less time and is great for smaller display areas. Both resources are provided in two languages, English & Spanish.
